Neurodivergent-Affirming Family Education & Coaching
Family support… free from judgement.
Family education & coaching sessions are built around the individual needs of your student and family.
AND… “family” is determined by you. I celebrate ALL the ways we build our biological, adoptive, and chosen families.
Family education & coaching may be focused on:
Learning together about your child’s strengths, struggles, and all the ways their neurodivergence impacts their lived experience in the world.
Building specific skills so that families can better support their student with executive function & emotional regulation.
Creating a play-based, effective, and sustainable home practice to supplement reading and/or math development.
Cultivating neurodivergent-affirming resources.
Growing awareness and understanding from family members who just don’t “get it”.
The possibilities are endless…
Family education & coaching is co-created together, so it is designed to be responsive to your child and family.
Family education & coaching can be helpful at any stage in the journey, but can be especially beneficial right after a new diagnosis.
What’s the difference?
Families often ask about the difference between therapy and coaching, especially when supporting a neurodivergent family member. Both can make a meaningful difference—but they serve different purposes.
Individual & Family Therapy focuses on healing, self-regulation, and emotional well-being. It’s led by a licensed mental health professional (such as a family therapist, psychologist, or clinical social worker). Therapy helps families explore emotions, patterns, and past experiences that may be causing stress or conflict. Therapy is especially helpful when a family member is experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, and/or significant barriers to a quality of life that is personally meaningful.
If a family member is experiencing a mental health crisis and/or a persistent, life-altering mental health struggle, it is essential to have a skilled therapist in place.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Family Coaching focuses on growth, understanding, accessing resources, and building sustainable everyday strategies. As a Neurodivergent-Affirming Family Coach, my professional background is as a learning specialist, not as a therapist. My post-graduate level of training (Master’s Degree) is comparable to most therapists, but my area of focus is different.
I also draw from my own lived experience as a parent of two beautiful children, one of whom is 2E/Neurodivergent.
I offer hands-on support for families to better understand neurodivergence, build routines, improve communication, and create systems that honor each person’s needs and strengths—especially in families with at least one neurodivergent family member.
My work as a family coach is more present- and future-oriented, helping you put practical tools into action.
Many families find that therapy and coaching work beautifully together. Therapy supports emotional healing and regulation, while coaching helps your family bring those insights into daily life with confidence and connection.
